imagesA physiotherapeutic method combining mud treatment (applications of therapeutic mud) with galvanization (exposure to direct electric current of low voltage).
To enhance the healing properties of mud, improve blood circulation, metabolism and tissue regeneration, used in sanatoriums for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous and other systems.

How is the procedure performed:

Preparation: The therapeutic mud is heated (35-40 °C) and applied to the skin as an application.
Applying electrodes: Electrodes connected to the electroplating device are installed on top of the mud cake (or in special bags with dirt).

The effect of current:

A low-current direct current passes through the tissues, causing physico-chemical shifts.
Duration: 15-20 minutes

Mechanism of action:

Synergy: The current enhances the penetration of ionized useful components of dirt (trace elements, amino acids) into tissues.
Improvement of blood circulation: Metabolic processes and blood supply are activated, which contributes to the resorption of inflammation.
Nervous system: The work of nerve fibers is stimulated, the regeneration of nerves is accelerated.

Indications:

  • Diseases of joints, spine, muscles.
  • Diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system.
  • Inflammatory diseases of the digestive, respiratory, and genitourinary systems.
  • Rehabilitation after injuries.

The main contraindications:

  • Oncological diseases: Malignant and benign neoplasms.
  • Cardiovascular diseases: Hypertension, heart failure, rhythm disturbances, the presence of a pacemaker.
  • Pregnancy and lactation.
  • Acute inflammations and infections: Fever, purulent processes, acute dermatitis, tuberculosis.
  • Skin problems: Open wounds, ulcers, eczema, fungal skin lesions.
  • Neurological disorders: Epilepsy, mental disorders.
  • Allergy to dirt or electric current.
